In the polymer modified bitumen plant, the bitumen pumps, mills, tank bodies, and bitumen line are heated by thermal oil. The thermal oil heat exchanger should be started before operating the modification plant depending on production conditions.

For the mixer to operate in manual mode, the P1 feed pump must be activated and the weight of the mixing tank must be equal to or greater than the mixer operating weight.

If production is desired in manual mode, the pump speed must be adjusted. For this, before starting the pump, pump capacity settings should be configured while manual mode is active. After the P1 feed pump starts, the PM2-Polymer feeding group is activated. If production is to be done in manual mode, the speed of the PM-Polymer feeding group is adjusted. After running the PM2-Polymer group briefly, the mill is started. Once the polymer modified bitumen mill has run for a while and the current value normalizes, the feed pump is started. After all motors have been started and tested, automatic production can begin. First, the recipe values are introduced into the system, and automatic production is initiated.

When automatic production starts, the operations are sequentially executed and monitored by the automation program. The P1-V0 valve on the bitumen feed line opens, and after the valve opens, the P1 feed pump runs. The speed of the P1 feed pump is adjusted by the system according to recipe values and pump parameter settings.

Bitumen begins filling the mixing tank. After the weight of bitumen exceeds the mixer operating weight, the mixer runs. When the bitumen weight exceeds the operating value of the PM2 Polymer group and the PM-V valve opens, the PM2-polymer feeding group (screw and star feeder) operates. Thus, the entire feeding line is activated.

After some time, the P3-V1 valve in the mill line opens, and the mill starts running. When the mill motor reaches nominal current values, the P3-mill feed pump operates. With this last step, the entire system is up and running, and production continues according to the set design values, parameters, and production data.
